Artist in Residence (AIR) and Studio Spaces Program
Indigenia Arts Foundation is proud to offer Artist in residence (AIR) and studio spaces to empower Indigenous artists. These residencies are designed to provide a supportive environment where artists can develop their skills, connect with established Indigenous mentors, and focus on their creative visions.
Program Highlights
Access to Resources: Artists will have access to studio space, tools, and materials essential to their creative processes.
Mentorship Opportunities: Residents will work alongside established Indigenous artists, fostering collaboration and learning.
Dedicated Time: Residencies provide the space and time needed to focus intensely on art without external pressures.
2025 Funding Goals
Goal: Raise $200,000 to fund the program fully.
Funding Period: December 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025
Program Impact
With your support, we aim to fund5 artist in residencies in 2025. Each Artist will receive:
Studio space tailored to their creative needs.
Access to resources to advance their work.
A nurturing environment to cultivate their talent and bring their artistic visions to life.
Your contributions to this initiative will directly support Indigenous artists in their journey to preserve, innovate, and celebrate Indigenous art and culture.

Eligibility
The program is open to Indigenous, Native American and First Nation artists who are in the following regions:
The Pacific Northwest (Alaska, British Columbia, Oregon)
The Upper Midwest (Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin)
The Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California, and Texas)

Application materials
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Work in one or more of the supported creative disciplines.
Be willing to engage with the community and participate in public programs like artist talks or workshops.
Submit a portfolio showcasing their work (minimum of 5 pieces).
A personal statement outlining their goals for the residency (500 words max)
