Indigenia Foundation Launches Capital Campaign to Establish Indigenous Art Gallery in Santa Fe
Santa Fe, NM — The Indigenia Foundation, led by Executive Director Che Cardona, is thrilled to announce the launch of its Capital Campaign to acquire and establish a groundbreaking art gallery in Santa Fe. Dedicated exclusively to Indigenous art, this zero-commission gallery will empower Indigenous artists by providing a platform to showcase their work with fairness, integrity, and dignity.
"This gallery will be a transformative space," said Che Cardona. "It will celebrate Indigenous creativity while ensuring artists retain the full value of their work and gain the recognition they deserve."
A Space for Equity and Creativity
The proposed gallery will operate on a zero-commission model, ensuring that every dollar earned from artwork sales goes directly to the artists. In addition to showcasing art, the gallery will serve as a cultural hub, offering workshops, community events, and opportunities for artists to connect with collectors, institutions, and global audiences.
Run entirely by Indigenous staff, the gallery reflects Indigenia’s commitment to providing meaningful opportunities within Indigenous communities while celebrating and preserving their artistic traditions.
Campaign Goals and Timeline
The Foundation seeks to raise $2.5 million to bring this vision to life. Funds will support property acquisition, renovations, and operational expenses for the first year.
Key Milestones:
Property Acquisition: Within 6 months.
Renovations and Setup: Within 9 months.
Grand Opening: Within 12 months, featuring an inaugural exhibition of Indigenous artists.
Indigenia invites donors, organizations, and art enthusiasts to join this transformative initiative. Contributions of any size make a difference, and corporate sponsorship opportunities are available.
